SA 537 CL 1 Boiler & Pressure Vessel Steel Plates are applicable in various general purposes such as flanges, pressure vessels, dished ends, columns, filters, pipelines, heat exchangers, valves, storage tankers. These plates are helpful in many industries such as the aerospace industry, oil & gas industry, refineries industry, petrochemical industry, fertilizer industry, paper industry and many more. This can also be helpful in the food industry, hydrogen vessels, shipbuilding, chemical industry, machine building, anti-drill security doors and many more.
The material is a normalised steel which is heat treated and as a consequence displays greater yield and tensile strength than the more standard ASTM A516 grades. The steel is ideal for use in pressurised service both in boilers and pressure vessels.

Tempering Notch toughness can be improved by quenched cooling from hot rolling or normalizing by the supplier. If such a faster cooling rate is agreed upon between purchaser and supplier then the steel is also to be tempered at 1200 F.
